Trillium in Cornplanter State Forest

This photo was taken in May 2003. Trilliums make a great subject since they are showy flower with a single blossom.

Li and Ali November 2003

This photo was taken at Ali's sister's home in November 2003. Ali was finished with all treatments and her hair had started to grow back. I was amazed at how Ali's sister, Mom, aunt, cousins, and friends circled around her when she was ill. They were just there or a phone call away. I'm not certain that a ring of support that strong would pop up for a guy in a similar situation. I've struggled with posting this photo. Between Ali and my parents, this was a rough time. I guess not all great photos can be happy. The strength of the bonds behind this picture are amazing.

This photo was taken in December 2002 at my sister's home. We had stopped by to bring and deecorate a tree. This is a scan of one of the few film photos I will post.

These two photos were taken in March 2004 at the eastern edge of the parking lot for the West Side Market. They were okay in color, but stood out for me in black and white.

Tom and Hannah

This is a photo of our neighbor and his daughter taken on New Years Day 2005. Hannah was born after we bought our house in Pennsylvania. Tom started off as a contractor rebuilding our house and became a good friend. We look forward to visiting with them whenever we are in Pennsylvania. I really like black and white photos from December through February. It is a time where the world is basically black and white and the shadows and textures take over.
